San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) - On-Call Civil Rights Consulting Services - Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance
Project Description
SANDAG selected GCAP Services to provide on-call ADA compliance consulting services. A particular goal for SANDAG is to receive expert guidance on local, state, and federal accessibilities codes and their applicability for specific work as well as recommendations for approach when conflicts may arise.
Project Role
GCAP is responsible for the following tasks:
- Providing recommendations and guidance on compliance with applicable local, state, and federal accessibility codes and regulations
- Reviewing architectural drawings on projects at select stages of completion to determine if they comply with applicable accessibility codes & regulations
- Conducting on-site construction project assessments, as requested, to inspect accessibility features and provide corrective advice
- Conducting on-site agency facilities assessments, as requested, to inspect accessibility features and provide corrective advice
- Proposing innovative solutions to accessibility challenges to increase accessibility beyond minimum compliance standards
- Attending and presenting accessibility information at agency meetings as needed
- Serving as an expert witness, deponent, or mediation support as needed
- Providing other ADA-related advisory services as needed
