Scattergood Unit 3 Demolition Project

Project Name

LADWP – TRC – Scattergood Unit 3 Demolition Project 

 

Project Description

The LADWP selected TRC as the prime contractor for the Scattergood Unit 3 Demolition Project. The purpose of this project is to remove the existing Unit 3 from operations and the plant footprint so that it can be replaced with a modern, more efficient unit. Unit 3 was a natural gas-fired steam boiler unit was put into operation in 1974. It had maximum gross generation capacity of 460 megawatts.

Project Role

GCAP was selected as a subconsultant to provide onsite document control, project support and office administration. GCAP worked 40 hours per week acting as key support to the Project Managers by managing the onsite project office, ordering supplies, assisting with scheduling, and handling document management. Our team created, developed, and implemented appropriate document control policies and procedures and utilized Procore software for document management. GCAP developed and maintained documents such as daily reports from subcontractors working in the field. We also processed and managed pay applications, invoices, and purchase orders and ensured accuracy and compliance with contract requirements. Our team was responsible for tracking conditional and unconditional waivers as well as preliminary notices and insurance requirements. In addition, our team served as a Spanish translator for safety orientation class and was responsible for the creation of badges for field employees using the TruPortal Software.
