When Tamela Saldana trekked across the state of Texas to help contract with minority and women-owned businesses, she encountered a similar troubling scene in each district: a predominantly white male workforce. Saldana’s tenure came to an end in 2012 when she was fired by TxDOT. In turn, she sued for harassment, unveiling over 200 allegations against the agency from women and minorities alleging harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
