February 20 – 23, 2017
San Diego, CA
The Western Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (WASHTO) invites you to join them in San Diego, CA from February 20-23, 2017 for the Civil Rights Training Symposium.
This three-day training experience in Southern California offers a unique chance for your team to engage in real dialogue about innovative and performance enhancing practices for ensuring your agency is prepared to meet the needs of your workforce and your customers. Whether it is in the hiring of its employees (EEO), the utilization of contractors (DBE), the make-up of the labor force (EO/OJT), or the active dissemination of and equal access to information and resources (Title VI/ADA), attendees can expect to gain a better understanding of these civil rights programs that play a critical role in defining each state DOT’s true success as a US DOT-funded agency.
The theme of the training symposium is: “Partnering to Go Beyond Business as Usual”, because many of its workshops will feature DOT as well as Construction Industry perspective. The majority of the workshops will be taught by US DOT and Civil Rights staff, and participants will be able to earn Continuing Education Credits (CEU’s) towards their National Civil Rights Certification.
